Stahly Engineering & Associates is looking for a Project Engineer to manage structural project design for our Helena, Montana office.

Required Education and Experience: B.A. or B.S. in Civil Engineering, Professional Engineer P.E.  Will accept inquiries from E.I.’s as long as candidate has appropriate experience necessary to perform required job duties and at least 2 years of experience.

 

Valuable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Understanding of structural engineering fundamentals including:

Structural building loads and non-building loads;
Gravity analysis and design including design with all major construction materials;
Lateral analysis and design including wind and seismic;
Foundation analysis and design;
Construction drawing and detail development; and
Technical specification writing.

Knowledge of local and state codes (i.e. IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)
Familiarity with Design Manuals (i.e. steel construction manual, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry)
Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD/REVIT) skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Communication and writing skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers and clientele in a team-oriented environment
Ability to function independently
Capability to conduct public relations activities required for projects which may include client contact, city and county governments, state agencies, federal agencies, and public meetings.

 

Position is based in our Helena, Montana. Must be prepared for both the office environment and field operations. Field operations may include walking and standing for extended periods of time and/or lifting equipment in excess of 50 lbs.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Benefit package includes generous holiday and personal time off pay, health, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401K/profit sharing plan. Employees also enjoy other bonus/incentive opportunities.
